Welcome to the OPRT Extension Feasibility Study Interactive Map!

The purpose of this study is to identify and assess the feasibility of a trail connection between the existing eastern terminus of the Old Plank Road Trail (OPRT), at the Thorn Creek Trail in Chicago Heights, IL, and the Pennsy Greenway in Schererville, Indiana.

Your input is critical in identifying challenges and opportunities that will help make the OPRT extension work best for all who may use it.

This map allows you to identify community destinations, challenging locations and routes for biking and walking, and desired bike routes to connect to the preferred alignment (in dark pink).

Please use the "Add Comment" button at the top-center section of your screen to select a pin or route to add to the map. You also have the ability to select an existing comment and "like" or "dislike" the feature/comment. 

A quick survey is located on the left side of the screen (click the survey icon) that will further help the project team understand how best to extend the OPRT.
